Teacher Challenges

The results are in and 5 teachers must follow through on their promise to complete a chosen consequence.

Mrs Porter's challenge raised $35.09. She has already put red streaks in her hair and is planning the big day where her students will have the chance to paint her. Anyone have any old painting clothes to lend her? I will add pictures later for everyone to enjoy!

Mrs Donnelly also met her goal by raising $27.30. She is planning her special Spa Day. I know for a fact that her students are excited and ready to give her all the "special" treatment she deserves. Another good photo oppurtunity- I will post it later. Check back!

Mme SS is off to JAIL! Her challenge raised $31.02. She will be locked up in the jail that was discovered behind an old wall at the Town Hall as a result of renovations. Her class will be there on "visitation day". The village of Westport is also looking forward to this day. Her picture will make headlines!

Last but not least are Mr Seed and Mr Mattice. They challenged the school to raise $100 and they would lip sync to a song in the gym dressed as women. Unfortunetely, their jar only raised $22.61. However, we felt so sorry for them that we decided to pool all the money from the jars that did not reach their goal and donate it to their cause. After all, we could not let all the hours of practice and a good dress go to waste. I PROMISE to post lots of pictures! Chack back again!

This concludes our DSE $500 Challenge. We had a blast and the kids were thrilled to hear that we raised approximately $2600 in just a few weeks.

Thanks for giving us the chance to have some fun and make some money for our playground!

Chuck The Chicken

On Friday, Feb. 27th we held our Chuck The Chicken event. Students paid $1.00 for 3 throws of a rubber chicken. Everyone lined up in front of recycling bins and tried to throw the chickens into the bins. Everytime they were successful, their name went into a draw. Everyone encouraged each other and cheered each other on. Students from JK to teachers played. This event raised $132.00.

Alexis Lyons won Free Hot Lunches for the rest of the year.
Eric McCulloch won the chance to be either Principal or a Teacher for the day.

Valentine's Day Grams

Valentine's Day Grams were sold this week and delivered on Friday, Feb 13th. Another successful $500 Challenge Event. We raised $80.00 to put towards our playground and fitness park and enjoyed a little chocolate too.

Thank you to everyone who participated and to the organizers.

Boys and Girls Bathroom Visits

Today, we offered guided tours of the boys and girls bathrooms for those who wished and had permission to participate. The challenge team came up with this crazy idea and the students at school loved it! This event helped us raise $26.00 to put towards our playground and fitness park. I think the boys are a little jealous because it as discovered that the girls have a decorated bathroom with scented hand soap, hand towels, a flower arrangement and a singing moose.
It is also Winter Wake up Week and today was PJ Day/Crazy Hat Day.

Thanks for participating and we hope all your curiosities have been put to rest. It was fun!
